As usual, things have been busy and I haven't been doing as much graphic art as I would like.
I did, however paint two pieces recently as a gift for a friend. We both share a love of the artist Patrick Nagel, so I decided to paint a portrait of her in his style. I actually ended up doing two of them, because I wasn't entirely happy with the first.
I did them in marker, spray paint and colored pencil on bristol board. Props to my friend Divulged for the technical advise on painting with spray paint. You can view them in my gallery.

As the lion's share of my graphic arts pursuits lately have been limited to creating graphics for my various musical projects, I finally made a gallery here on my DA page to display some of this stuff. It is in my Gallery under  "Music Poject Graphics".
The pieces vary from traditional artwork, photo manipulations, mainly stylized text, collages, etc. - whatever seems to suit the need.

On the music front, I have mostly been working on one of my side projects,  4TL4NTIS. It is more of a "hobby". I don't promote it or anything, I just do it because I am passionate about it.  4TL4NTIS is an all-hardware (synthesizers, drum machines & effects units, as opposed to using a computer), old-school techno / New wave / etc. project. It is, admittedly, not music for everyone. But if you think you might be into that sort of thing, you can check it out on either Bandcamp or SoundCloud.

Also, I recently created a Bandcamp site for my long-running (since the 90's) solo music project "When Machines Dream". The music of WMD has been featured in numerous video games, including In The Groove, Pump It Up Pro 1 & 2, ReRave & ReRave+, Snake 360 and more. I am adding more songs to the site regularly and all of them are available as a free download for the time being (as are the 4TL4NTIS songs, btw).

When Machines Dream Bandcamp:…
4TL4NTIS Bandcamp:
4TL4NTIS SoundCloud:

Anyway, that is essentially what's been up in my creative world as of late. Thank you to everyone for taking the time to read / view my stuff here.

~ John

My name is John Mendenhall. I am primarily an electronic musician / producer from the Pacific Northwest. My main projects are Oscillator X, 4TL4NTIS and When Machines Dream. I am also a co-owner of SCI Recordings, an independent record label specializing in progressive dance music. I am currently trying to re-learn how to draw using traditional materials, and combine that with digital art. Also trying to learn how to do webcomics. These are the results so far.....

Current Residence: Pacific NW - USA

Hey! No problem for the Watch.
Actually I have been following his music for 2 or 3 yearsthanks to the ITG, but did not know who had more work on their Bandcamp page, definitely puts me very happy to see you still continue with his musical projects, keep it up. Furthermore, the idea of making a comic is fantastic, is not at all musical duos!
A fan from Chile, Hans
Cheers to Kyle!

Hey man, I really liked your Oscillator X comic (I'm a keytar player myself) it was a simple, yet very cool Idea. Is there going to be more?

Thank you for the kind comment! At this point I am planning to continue with it. I have a second story written and am going to start drawing it this week. Currently I am pretty slow at this, as it is new to me (comic making). So I hope to continue it, time allowing. So you play keytar too, huh - very cool (extra-credit if you can identify the keytars....)

My pleasure! And I'm glad you're making more. I can totally relate to being slow (I'm new at comic making too, my projects are a serial comic and a manga) don't worry though because speed isn't important, quality is what's important. At least in my opinion :D.

I'll have to take a look at those keytars again and see If I can tell what kind they are...

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who is slow...heh. I checked out your serial comic, but it looks like your manga is on lock for now... cool stuff.
